About

Grief Navigation

Grief is specific. Losing a child is not the same as losing a parent. Losing someone to violence carries a completely different weight than losing someone after a long, expected decline. Grief has its own shape for every loss , and support should match that shape.

Most grief resources treat every loss the same. We don't.

Grief Navigation exists because we believe that the person grieving a miscarriage deserves a different kind of support than the person grieving a spouse of sixty years. That someone grieving a sudden, violent death shouldn't have to sit in the same room as someone whose goodbye was peaceful and expected. That loss of a pet is real grief, even if the world doesn't always recognize it.

We've gathered resources , books, podcasts, organizations, workbooks, journal prompts , organized not by "stages of grief" but by the specific kind of loss you're carrying. Every category includes guidance for family and friends who want to show up but don't know how. Every resource has been chosen because it speaks to a particular kind of grief, not grief in general.

What you'll find here

  • Specific grief categories , resources matched to the kind of loss you're experiencing, not generic advice that tries to fit everyone.
  • A quiet compass , our "Start Here" flow asks a few gentle questions and points you toward resources that might fit where you are right now.
  • Guidance for supporters , practical, specific advice for people who want to show up for someone who's grieving, including what to say, what not to say, and how to really be there.
  • Free downloads , workbooks, journal prompts, and guides created with care. No paywalls. No accounts required.

What we're not

Grief Navigation is not therapy. It's not a crisis service. It's not a replacement for professional mental health care. It's a quiet, carefully organized collection of resources for people who are grieving , a place to find something that might help, right now, without having to explain yourself first.

If you're in crisis, please visit our Crisis Resources page. You don't have to go through this alone.
